I devoured this book! Easy to get engaged in the characters' lives and wonderful perspective on the way that food is so much more than a collection of ingredients.

Absolutely adored this book.
It was the most comforting, inviting read… I have been struggling for the words to describe Erica’s writing in this one… it’s so descriptive, and lush, and intentional, and descriptive.
I loved learning about each character that attends Lillian’s cooking class- seeing little bits into their lives as the stories unfold. I loved how the characters became connected with one another as each class passed…
I truly enjoyed the descriptive language Erica uses- she is such a talented writer, and you can tell that she places each word in each sentence for a purpose.
I’m sure you’ll look at cooking and food in a more appreciative way after reading this one ♥️

This is a lovely, lovely book. There was real "magic" with the food and with each member of the cooking class. Enchanting.

It was a 5-star til about 2/3 through. I got tired of the similes and the individual stories that, though they had a purpose, didn't lead anywhere. Still, I loved most of it, and saved it for the moments I could take the time to savor it.

Cooking and life both teach lessons. But the scrumptious cooking and descriptions in this book make it a quick, joyful book to read. I will never look at cooking in the same way again. Cooking takes love, time and enjoyment.

This is such a luxurious book. It merges imagery with emotion, and showcases the lives of several individuals all joining together for for a cooking class while letting us get to know each one through snippets of back story. Charming read.
