Honestly the most depressing book ever BUT it kept my interest for 666 pages so that says a lot!! Beautifully written and raw. I loved it and it broke my heart all at once

Great themes of looking deeper and understanding what goes on in different peoples’ heads in this book. I felt connected to the characters individually, however found it hard to see the chemistry and connection between the characters themselves. We were supposed to believe a love story took place when we never really got to see them interacting much before we got to that point of the ‘love’. Same goes for the friendship they have with Connor. Overall I love the concept of this book and there’s great quotes in here, but it fell a little short in the storytelling

This book is a favorite of mine from being a young adult and teenager. It felt like the author was reading my mind at points and I quoted it for years. This book follows the stories of three teenager who’s lives intersect because all three of the attempted suicide. Vanessa is a bipolar cutter trying to come to terms with her life. Tony is a young gay man from the streets and Connor is the all star athlete that feels he can’t live up to the expectation. All three wind up at a treatment center trying to convince them life is worth living

Probably my favorite Ellen Hopkins. its just very relatable. although the eventual romantic plotline that grows isn't one I ever liked. ha
