Again I find I loved this authors writing style, and found myself invested in the story from the beginning.
This story took a real twist away from where I thought it was going at the halfway mark and then continued to keep me rethinking everything until the end.
The reader follows a range of characters that were all well written and had you constantly thinking about their lives and wondering if they will be ok.
A fascinating mystery that will keep the reader captivated throughout the whole book.

This is a book thriller lovers will not want to miss. And fans of Christian White, Wild Place does not disappoint! It might just be my new favourite. It’s brilliant!

I devoured this twisty and enthralling read. The suburban Australian setting is a familiar but eery backdrop to the story, the cast of townsfolk intriguing with lots of grey, and the time period, 1989 as the new decade approaches, delivered mounting pressure and an excellent dose of nostalgia for this child of the ‘90s. (Think cassettes & the legendary dessert that is a Viennetta!)

Christian White dials the tension and dilemmas up a notch with each chapter and I could feel the screws tightening & the pressure mounting.

The very last page had me gasping. The ending was on my mind for days.

If you’ve read Christian White’s earlier novels, you must read this book. If you haven’t read his books before, this is a great one to start with!

THE TWISTS! Holy hell the twists came out of nowhere.

I’ve never read a book by Christian White before, but after finding this on Amazon I was like, might as well ay? And it did not disappoint.

Now, to be clear the writing isn’t awe inspiring, but the story is mind boggling, you don’t see the twists coming until they’ve punched you in the face and suddenly the book is going at 100 miles per hour. And with a good mix of Satanic panic, beloved suburbia normality, a decade change over and of course, a gritty murder, this book was done in a matter of hours.

Great stuff. 4.5/5 stars.
