It took me a long time to read this because it took me many sessions to stomach the details of the Manson murders. I only knew the cursory details and was on a kick earlier this year reading about cults. It’s well-documented and written but it isn’t easily digested.
I want to give this book 3.5 stars, but since I can't I will round up. The one thing this book has going for it is the subject matter. The author is no knowledgeable that even small details are given their place in the timeline. The reason it is not getting 5 stars is the writing. I found it confusing at times, but this was mitigated by the chapters being divided by date. This was a long read, but a worthwhile one if you have ever wanted an in-depth look at the Manson Murders.

I really liked how Bugliosi gives every detail about the murders and the case. I liked it, but it took me way too long to read it. I'd recommend it, it's true crime 101.
Dude.
Truth is definitely stranger than fiction.
This is written very well and I enjoyed the legal stuff as well because some of it was hilarious. No it is not hearsay to state your name for the record :-D

Holy wow. This is an incredibly detailed account of the Tate/LaBianca murders and the subsequent investigations and trial. Written by the lead prosecuting attorney, the reader experiences it first hand and is not disappointed. Great read!
