I like her voice for this teacher better than the Southern voice she used for Mrs Binney in Ramona the Pest.

Beverly Cleary is unparalleled in her ability to write from the perspective of a child. I adore the Ramona series. They are timeless and could happen as easily today as when they were written 40 years ago. This particular book is not my favorite of the bunch, but is still wonderful. I think that I appreciate these books even more as an adult and reading them with the perspective of a parent.

Ramona is awesome plus the narrator is Stockard Channing! Bonus.

The chapter "Ramona Says a Bad Word" had my 4 year-old and 11 year-old spellbound and then rolling on the floor laughing. So awesome.

Beverly Cleary was one of my favorite authors growing up, and Ramona one of my favorite characters. It was fun to revisit an old favorite!

I love these book. I'm reading it to my daughter, years later after reading it to my son. I love Ramona's temptation on pulling Susan's boing-boing curls. I also like how Ramona smashes her owl and Susan's and her family doesn't freak out and is understanding to a six-year old's injustice of first grade!
