I honestly don’t know how to review this book. It was a good read don’t get me wrong but it could’ve been easily a 100 pages less and would’ve been much more impactful.
I get the parallels drawn between corruption of the world and the privileged 1% but the story never truly hits home. Perhaps the writing needed a better editor.

This was the perfect blend of a crime and fantasy. It had me hooked from the start and I found myself thinking of this book when I wasn't reading it.
Damian is an absolute sweetheart whilst Roz is fierce with a no BS attitude. The characters were well written and their back stories shaped them so perfectly for the people they are in this book.
I loved the setting and the magic system.
Can't wait for the next book.
