3.5 ⭐️ maybe? I don’t know I’m quite conflicted about the whole thing.

too boring and language is too obnoxious

The School of Life introduced by Alain de Botton. My buddy Scott handed this to me over barbecue. Boy, how do I describe this? It’s a collection of topics that ultimately reassures you in this overly complicated world that you’re okay being you. If you’re an introvert, this speaks right to your soul. “We should respect and not tinker with emotions, especially as they related to love and the spiritual varieties of experience. We need to fall silent — more frequently than we do — and simply listen.”

This was one of my most favorite books. I guess it’s a “self help” book but one that uses a “perhaps consider this” approach. It presents such a great approach to life that I find very useful. Also, I found it hilarious.

I do like a bit of De Botton. Useful yet also delivered with his own frank sense of wit.

This is a proper philosophy book. I thought it would be slightly easier to breeze through but it felt quite dense and important. I also thought it would be a scientifically proven way to best live your life sort of thing but it is not. It may carry this authoritative narrative but it is just an argument for a better way to live life. This is a proper philosophy book. It carries a lot of wisdom and beauty and food for thought.
