What a fun, weird little book. Does it have much more to offer than its gimmick? No, not really. There's some thematic elements that are there if you want them, but they're nothing special (even if they are...frustratingly pertinent right now). Still, I had a good time with this!
Spoiler? I did recognize the answer to Enterprise 32 as soon as it appeared, so it was a little frustrating how long it took for Ella to discover it but I understand why that needed to be the case

Incredibly cleverly written. Characters were wonderfully lifelike for an epistolary, if unrealistically verbose. I will say this book made me incredibly angry to read at times- angry on the characters' behalfs. There was a time in my life where I would have found the levels of corruption portrayed in this book overly hamfisted but now find them uncomfortably real. Going in I was expecting clever twists of language, which I did get, but it's also very much a tale of government persecution so be ready for that.
