Presumably a book about writing and literature, this book is a series of essays about Midwest landscape and literature.

Neville explores underground rivers, Indiana literary giants (no, not an oxymoron!), landscape, and of course the ancient sea that once covered the Midwest. This is the kind of book that leads to other books - I ended up with a long reading list by the time I was done.

If you like to meander through thought and place with a good writer, you'll like this book.
