Two teenagers fall madly in love (at least, I hope Romeo is a teenager, not sure..) and get themselves in a lot of trouble with stupid dramatics and killing people by accident (oops!) The adults around them aren't a lot more grown up than they are and go right along, causing even more drama.
Romeo and Juliet is supposed to be this epic love story, but I doubt it was meant to be viewed as that. The main characters are obviously completely ridiculous.
I listened to this as an audiobook and I was glad I did. It probably comes closer to the experience Shakespeare intended as opposed to reading it.

I love these old time stories. Romeo and Juliet is one of my favorites. Its one of those stories that everyone knows, but everyone sees differently.
