I don't really care if the love story is unrealistic and rushed, I think analysing this by current context is a mistake, it is a fantastical tale of love at first sight, I think it allows most of the audience to suspend their disbelief enough to not realize the absurdity of a 13 year old and a 16 year old dramatically confesing their love, getting married a day after they met and dying two days later. It's absurd, it's childish, it's ridiculous but it is oh so beautifully written, there is a reason why so many lines of this play are repeated constantly.
