Wow, I don't know what happened, but reading the last few chapters I started crying and I can't even pinpoint what it is that made me so emotional.

loves:
emma
exploration of trans identity through almost entirely dialogue between two characters
super interesting on intersection of transness and DID — both things which emma was constantly told she was lying about, or were “all in her head”

likes:
art style is simplistic but doesn’t take away from the writing

dislikes:
toby. hated toby from page 50 to page 500. fuck you, toby. toby is the worst, which kind of sucks because he’s in 90% of the book. it was just so frustrating to watch him say such hateful and damaging things - again and again - to someone clearly struggling

The book was overall nice, but if we look at it closely, I didn't like it as much. First of all, I wasn't very fond of the drawings. Then, I felt bored by the redundancy of the therapist sessions and the content of it, which was very often the same, even though I know it was useful to the story and how it was supposed to unfold itself. Nonetheless, I was mad at the characters for talking non sense and repeating the same things over and over, like they didn't hear it the first time. Then, what is this therapist? I was really shocked at how he handled the situation and how he would often react towards Emma.
