I might go back, as I'm enjoying learned more about Bhaalspawn for my playing of Baldur's Gate 3, but the story is really disjointed and hard to stay invested in.

I've read Baldur's Gate twice and it's okay. It's not the worst book ever. I like the characters and do wish we had more development of them. I think this book's biggest problem is that it's too short. Another fifty to one hundred pages would have allowed for better character development. And the ending is so abrupt I thought pages were missing from my book on my first read - it suddenly ends.

I never played the video game and cannot comment on the book's relationship, or lack thereof. So, with the video game aside, Baldur's Gate is lots of action with a thin story, and it works.

I gave it two stars and would give 2.5 if I could.
