I was feral for this book to come out after having just finished the first book and it did not dissappoint. For the record, this is a trilogy and the third book won't be out until 2025. This book picks up where the last book ended and if you haven't read that one don't read anymore because light *SPOILERS* are ahead.
This book follows Selene, the reincarnation of a former queen and Memnon her former husband/former King/sorcerer/villain extraordinaire. A LOT happens in this book and without spoiling anything, much of what we don't know in the first book is revealed. We do find out what happened way back when and Memnon has SO MUCH groveling to do, which he absolutely does. I am weak for a "he hates everyone but her" situation and this book is IT. This book ended on a bit of a cliffhanger but it was mild and honestly what I was kind of expecting to happen so not too bad. I'll just be here waiting on pins and needles for the next book.
