holy cliffhanger Batman!
So much more adventure, so much growth, and so many things revealed in book two! The breadcrumbs set in book one have start to come to fruition. I can’t wait to see where the story goes next!

I'm beginning to fall in love w elander!!!! ok but actually such a good character. I think the twist was done so nicely! i haven't read many series that does what this author does. still, I find the secondary characters a bit boring and lifeless. interactions almost feel like they're trying to hard to come across as found family its kind of weird but I can't really connect with them. I continue to enjoy the magic system within this book. I feel like it has some nice Greek mythology-esque thing going on which is always fun to read
Definitely not the best, took me like a full year to get through listening on and off, but i will always be a slut for the “i loved you in every lifetime” trope. ending felt a bit rushed with multiple major events crammed into two chapters but the cliffhanger did make me download the next one, hopefully will take less than a year this time.
Again, first third a bit slow and jumpy, but then it’s action packed and fast paced. Slow-burn romance and lots of magic. Another cliffhanger ending.

Overall, I love a dual perspective, however when it is not an even back and forth -ESPECIALLY when they are separated - it tends to irritate me. It makes me feel like Elander falls short, because he just disappears randomly and reappears randomly, I wish we could see what he is doing, what he is dealing with. I think it would round the story out better.

READ IT!!!
Omg, I can’t believe I finished this and now have to wait to SEPTEMBER. I may or may not survive but please just read this series. It’s absolutely breath taking and mesmerizing. I was clutching my seat nearly the entire way.
So amazing.

4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ better than the first, but still not quite a 5⭐️ for me. the characters are developing, the world is building, the enemies are loving, and the plot is progressing but this whole book just felt like exposition to what comes next
