A very sweet story about recognizing our friends and their strengths, with the cutest illustrations ever

Though this is technically a picture book for kids, this is absolutely precious!

This follows Dewdrop, an axolotl, which is an equally adorable water creature in real life and how this ray of sunshine brings so much good cheer to his friends to be the best versions of themselves.

Too cute for words, this brought a smile to my face for this super sweet simple feels!

2/5 ⭐️, I guess.

I know, I know it’s a children’s book and I didn’t really have any expectations when I got into it, but even knowing that it’s a children’s book, I just feel kinda meh about it. The overall message is good and important and the art style was kinda cute but it lacked in all the other parts that make up a good book in my opinion.

This book is just absolutely adorable. The characters are so cute that you just instantly love them all. They are each trying to work on something for the upcoming sports fair and are struggling with their part. The main character goes to each one to encourage them. The book is basically a hybrid between a picture book and a graphic novel. It would be a great way to introduce the concept of a graphic novel to younger kids.

I always love Katie O'Niell's art style and it really lends itself well to this children's story. Dewdrop is the kind of friend whose message children can easily understand and get behind.

I received an ecopy of this through netgalley; however, all opinions are my own.
