This was a very satisfying ending to The Interdependency series about a space empire who's whole society is based on a quick interstellar transport system which is falling apart. It's all political maneuvering and smart people outsmarting each other, and presents a lovely fantasy of a world in which someone in a position of privilege uses their power to do the right thing during an existential crisis.

Fantastic ending to a wonderful trilogy.

This was a good end to the series and a good series taken together. I’m not sure if it’s my quarantine brain or the book itself, but I found this installment not nearly as enjoyable as the first two. I felt like the characters spent most of the time explaining weird mostly made up science and weird mostly made up economics to each other for the first 3/4, which was hard to enjoy or pay attention to.

Our local bookstore didn't get this to me until 8 days after the publication date. I was nice about it, but not very happy. I read it once and enjoyed it, and then I turned right around and read it again. I loved seeing relationships grow in this one, especially between Cardenia and Marce, and I love Kiva Lagos as much as ever. I didn't like this as much as I liked the first two in the series, because I had a problem with the ending. I would have wanted the tragic part of the ending to feel more inevitable than it did; as it was I kept thinking, "Wait, was this on purpose? Why did it have to happen this way? Why couldn't this character have done it differently?" It didn't satisfy me, which is disappointing because this is the end of the trilogy. I'll continue to enjoy re-reading this no doubt; still I wish I had a stronger conviction that this was the only right ending to the story.

A really good trilogy! I got into books 2 and 3 more than book 1. You do need to read all 3 to get the full story. The plot was always surprising and entertaining and the conclusion was satisfying.

This series moves at a breakneck pace, and I love it.

What a disappointing ending of a series. When previously smart character (Kiva) makes stupid decision for no apparent reason and even that decision was basically pointless and didn't moved a plot not one bit.

And seriously emperox security probably the most incompetent in the history. There was two assassination attempts, coup etc. And even after that you have traitors in your own midst?! Allowing within vicinity of emperox unknown objects. What a joke.

We need another book in the series. In which Nadashe will attempt another coup and noble houses will support her, because of course you will support person who failed multiple times. It's logical thing to do.
