Very light read, while I liked premise I wished it had more romance.

Ugh man I really wanted to like this book but I just can’t get over a reality tv plot setting.

I thought this book was good for the plot because it was interesting and something i’ve never really read before. It got a little repetitive with one character constantly doing relatively the same thing and then the other characters having the same reaction over and over. I liked the ending I thought it was interesting and it I definitely didn’t see it coming. I would say that the romance between Cara and Connor is more of a subplot than the actual thing but it’s still a romance.

Unfortunately, this book was pretty forgettable for me. I had a hard time remembering the main character was 17 (this book takes place during a reality competition but the on camera temper tantrums felt super regressive). Every book doesn't have to show man character growth, but I feel like this one did not resolve a lot of things
Spoiler(her relationship with her stepmom and dad, things with Connor, not knowing herself enough to even know what her hobbies are).

This was a fun, romantic read and it ended just the way I hoped it would. I actually laughed out loud at some points. I think teens will enjoy the humor, too. I liked that Cara spoke her mind and didn't let anyone tell her to be quiet and was a better judge of character than her mom. It's like the Bachelorette meets Gilmore Girls.

This felt like a first draft or skeleton of a book and had a great concept but it was like a run of idea-idea-idea-idea and I just could not get invested in the characters or plot
