George Carlin

3.94 AVERAGE

It's no surprise that Carlin is as great a storyteller in the written word as he was out loud, on stage. His love of language is apparent in every sentence, to say nothing of his abundant curiosity. He defines the quality of the various periods of his life according to the amount that he grew and changed as a person.

I found most compelling Carlin's ongoing efforts to deliberately become the public figure he is remembered as today. He is frank about his personal failings (and they are many), while offering the context to properly understand them, along with understanding his desire for self improvement. Honesty with oneself is plainly his cardinal virtue.

Broadly, George Carlin began his career with an ambition, and on the way discovered something better. He became a remarkable artist, and though he wasn't necessarily right about everything, he had a way of getting better with age.

An awesome look into the life of George Carlin. The end left me wishing he'd lived long enough to finish creating his Broadway show. The only thing the book could have used was an epilogue by the co-writer.

George Carlin always has such an interesting way at looking at life. Reading his biography remind me how much he's missed.

An average read. It really failed to really grab my attention
