This book did actually make me laugh out loud on occasion so I want to give it major credit for that. But I found about 25% of the narration to be kind of annoying (humor that missed the mark for me) and it was kind of repetitive.

Carrie Fisher is so funny and has so many punchy lines - Wishful Drinking ends with a zinger that I will be laughing about for ages. I appreciate how forthright she is about her struggles with addiction and bipolar disorder. Her choice to use her platform to combat the stigma for this two things is respectable and well-done. The thing that keeps me from rating this higher is that I know Wishful Drinking was originally a show, and it does not fully transition into a book format, even in an audiobook (although that is the format I recommend consuming it in).

Very funny, if a little scattered. Also comes across as very honest and frank. Covers a lot of dark topics, but in a light-hearted way.

I'd recommend the audio book as it's read by Carrie - it feels a bit like meeting her at a party and her telling you a bunch of random life stories.

An entertaining and extremely likeable memoir. Carrie is very funny and I enjoy her writing style. A lot of hard stuff in here but she handles it with humor and grace. A good time.
