“Some people don’t need the glory that comes with goodness. That’s what makes them the very best of beings.”

A pretty good conclusion for The Last Daughter duology, a fantasy romance with Norse Mythology vibes about betrayal, vengeance, love and fates.

The world building is fascinating as we go deeper to learn more about the Norse Mythology elements like the background story of some of the Gods and Goddess.
The plot is also filled with angsty moments and action-packed with great battle scenes.

Told in multiple POVs, the readers get insights not only for the main characters but the villain and also the secondary characters which is a great touch.
The new character addition which has a link to the title of the book is a nice surprise to the plot and I really enjoy that.

The main characters - Vali and Ailsa, are once again facing another obstacle with their relationship, I adore their strength together as a couple. Their love is prove that even if the mind forgets, the heart still remembers what they had and I love that about them.

As much as I like the plot and the romance, it took a while for me to understand what happen. This might happen since I already forgot what happen from the first book, so I suggest reading the first book or re-read it first before reading the sequel to refresh your memories.

Overall, it’s a pretty good sequel and as a duology I really like the unique plot and world building.
I’m looking forward to read other books from this author in the future!
