This was the first book I remember reading in elementary school and then watching the movie after. It was the most amazing experience, to watch words from a book come to life. This helped start my love affair with books. This book will always be special to me! I just bought a signed copy which may now be my favorite book I own.

One of my absolute favorite books as a child. I read my copy so many times that it fell apart... I would love to go back and read again some twenty years later.

This was my FAVORITE book as a kid! And I can see why. It's a heart-warming story about family. It's very sweet, but also very catered to a younger audience, so the story is quite basic.

A very sweet children's story. I liked it quite a bit. It was a short read, only just over an hour in audiobook format, but the narrator did a wonderful job. The characters are well written and fleshed out and I look forward to reading the other four books in this series soon. Would recommend for any child or an adult who wants to remember what its like to be a child.

It’s a good quick read but very basic. No depth. I know its aimed at a younger audience and i am rereading based on the memories of reading it in school as a child. But i was still surprised at what little detail and depth there was to the characters and plot.

Growing up, i loved reading books by Patricia MacLachlan. Her way of telling a story was so well thought and amazing. This book was one of my favorites, i would read it over and over again. I loved Sarah's character as well as the story behind it. I don't want to spoil anything, so i'll leave it at that; but this book is a great read for kids in middle school or younger.

Charming, simple, heartfelt.
A Little-House-On-The-Prairie love story told by a child. Beautifully read by Glenn Close. (Yes, the majority of my book intake these days is audio. Fight me)
I remember this book (maybe the only one I do remember) from a reading by our school librarian. It must be special. Can't believe it stayed with me that long.

"P.S. I am plain and tall."

listened to audio, such a great narration!
