Read for school that's all I remember

Short and sweet would describe this book perfectly.

A good accompaniment to the Little House series. A widower seeks a new wife as a help-mate, and in response to his newspaper ad comes Sarah, plain and tall. A sweet little story about the developing relationship between a step-mother and her new family, and a nice snippet of frontier life.

Another classic from my kiddie lit class!

Fact #1: My car is gray & I named it Seal, after Sarah's cat.
Fact #2: I am an übernerd.

This was advertised to me incorrectly as a middlegrade book. Its definitly a book for young kids.

I read this book on recommendation fro my niece, who is currently falling in love with reading. It was a book I heard a lot about when I was young, but never read. It is so lovely. Very well written for a young reader story. I really loved the storytelling and the introduction of details through threads of dialogues and limited perspective of one of the children. Great way to start my reading year!

A re-read of a childhood favorite. This Newbery classic holds up - it’s as wonderful as it was when I first read it. Looking forward to sharing it with my children.
