Subtitle: A Holiday Mystery at Sea

The mother/daughter writing team gives us a cozy mystery featuring retired maid and lottery winner Alvirah Meehan, her husband, Willy, and their friends on a holiday cruise.

The plot is suitably complicated, if somewhat outlandish. There’s no murder, though there is an attack, some stolen Santa suits, several criminal types, more than one person with a secret identity, and the usual cast of eccentric bystanders and amateur sleuths. All told, it’s a fun, fast, cozy mystery with a satisfying conclusion.

Light as expected. More like Carol than Mary's style.

When I'm looking for a quick read, that is guaranteed to be clean and entertaining, I can always count on Mary Higgins Clark. I discovered, in about the third book I read of hers, that she leaves some important stuff out, so you usually can't figure out who "dun it" till the very end. Of course, sometimes it's obvious too.

My main problem was, there were too many characters and too many stories going on. The jumps from third and first person within paragraphs was also annoying.

Struggling with this book. I think I've outgrown MHC books. Too many characters to keep track of, and just no real depth or care for the characters in this book.

3.5 I didn't feel any of the characters were ridiculously idiotic or inept, but I did end up throwing the book across the room at the absurd ending.

I’ve read two books from Mary Higgins Clark and both were much better than this… Santa Cruise didn’t have a proper mystery I could solve and everything happened just so easily. The characters were also kind of one-dimensional. What a disappointment. But I like the cover.

This book was total rubbish. It was hard to follow, poorly written, and the storyline was very weak. I would give no stars if I could.
