This book was funny, romantic, beautiful, and also heartbreaking. The side characters were great, but the story really revolves around the two sisters Sadie and Marin. It is a wonderful read, but be ready for tears.

If you’re looking for a happy, romcom story, this book is not it, despite what the cover may depict.
I like the letters that tell the story from different angles and going back in time , they bring depth to the story.
Marin is a lovely character though it took me a few chapters to actually like her.
I think Lucas was my favourite character, he has it all!

Listen. I really liked this book at first but then I figured out what was going to happen and got so frustrated.
I called the sister dying when it switched to her letters pov. Which wouldn’t have been a bad thing but I really just wanted a light beach read. Instead I ended up crying a lot and reading about a wedding and a funeral.

I found the sisters to both be incredibly frustrating in their own ways. The younger sister more so, but I could not stand Marin in the flashback, every decision she made made me irrationally angry. And the Sadie planned this whole trip to bail, which I understand given the circumstances but are you kidding!? All Marin wanted was to spend time with her sister! She could have done these things with her sister. And I get she needed to be pushed out of her comfort zone. But if my sister did the same thing, I would be livid, she could have done the same dare and just had Sadie stay at the hotel. I don’t know maybe I'm over thinking it.
I also hated Ted, he served no purpose to me.
Lucas however is the real MVP and would fly to the ends of the earth for someone he loved.

Don’t be fooled by the cover, this story is not a fluffy romcom. It’s heart-wrenching and you’ll need tissues handy. This was the kind of book I had avoided for a while because I knew it was about grief and I wasn’t ready to handle it yet. Now that I felt ready, I am so glad that I read it. Meet Me in Paradise is a beautiful and emotional read. The romance is a secondary plot to the story of Marin dealing with overcoming her fears and gaining her emotional strength. Libby writes this story in a way that I felt connected to the characters and could relate my own personal experiences to Marin’s. The descriptions of the island and more importantly, the people, of Saba are quite amazing. If you’re in the mood for a book that will make you feel some true emotions based on a beautifully told story, pick up Meet Me in Paradise.
