I'm not quite sure what to make of this one. It's been week recommend by several reviewers I follow not to mention nominated for a few prizes. 
The book wasn't immediately interesting to me but after I heard it was written with a modern Irish dialect my ears pricked up a bit.
I went for audiobook on the recommendation of reviews. The narrator was excellent but this isn't the kind of book I'd normally read on audiobook. 
I tend to listen to non-fiction or classics. In the end while the audio was very well done I can't help thinking I would have been better with sprint copy.
The book is only 8 hours on audio book but it took me several weeks to finish which really made the book suffer. I can't say why I took so long to finish but ultimately when I wasn't reading it I felt to compulsion to come back.
The premise of the book is very cool. A couple of potters decide to put on a play and use Athenian prisoners as the cast.
The book was about war,slavery,human suffering but also about art. It still felt very relevant to today.
I don't think you need to know much about ancient history or myths to enjoy this book so don't let that stop you reading it.
