I think this might actually be genius. Ancient Greek/Mediterranean tragedy told in a modern Irish voice that just works so. Well. The voice doesn’t feel contrived at all, and you swing wildly from loving the narrator to cringing all while still rooting for Lampo’s misadventures. This is an ode to art: art for art’s sake, art for life’s sake, and art for goodness’s sake (in the literal sense). This whole book feels like a Greek comedy/tragedy and hits so hard even in our ~ modern times ~. This is gonna be the new book I recommend to everyone.

Only thing I didn’t like is the end! I loved Paches going to see Euripides, but I didn’t like the servant’s POV, it felt extraneous
