3.5 - this is my first Balogh book and I must say, I liked it but I didn’t love it. On the plus side: I really enjoy the fake marriage turns to love premise (plus there was no rape!! all of the sex was consensual - it didn’t ignore consent in favor of some shitty “historically accurate” consummating the marriage excuse), and I enjoyed the characters quite a bit. I will say, though, that a definitive negative was the fact that they fell in love with each other around 60% in and just refused to confess their feelings/get over themselves/confront their fears/learn to read each other well enough to get together before the literal second-to-last chapter of the book?? It was so annoying and frustrating! Thankfully, the rest of the book was pretty enjoyable. Not sure if I’ll continue the series, but I will say it was a good intro to Balogh.

Regency era romance and the series follows a set of siblings finding love. Bridgerton-esque but this series I think is more believable of the times
