This book works amazingly as a stand-alone, where former enemies come together to help each other in their time of need. It's like Harry Potter but queer, vampiric, and not written by a raging transphobe. The characters have to confront their own biases while juggling three different wars.

This is like an edgier HP and so much fun. I love the story and the characters and all the POVs. Of course I totally fell in love with SnowBaz which is why, after reading reviews for the follow up books, I refuse to read them. I'm going to pretend this is a standalone piece of joy and SnowBaz never argue or have stupid miscommunication or any of that other bullshit the author drags them through in the future.

Der Einstieg zog sich etwas hin und die Geschichte lässt ein bisschen Unordnung zurück. Aber ab der Hälfte war ich besessen!
Baz ist ein Träumchen von sexy Nervensäge und ich bin so gespannt auf den zweiten Teil.

What fun. You have to read Fangirl first to fully appreciate this. It is creative and Harry Potter-ish and doesn't take itself too seriously and also tells a fun story. I really enjoyed it.
