It took me a little bit to get into but it does pick up, multiple twists the ending is a bit far fetch for me but I still enjoyed it!

I'll start by saying that the spooky-but-cozy lake vibes are immaculate. Listen, it was good. I was hooked. I finished it. But the end kinda felt like a betrayal. Like the first plot twist was great but then the second one at the very end? It feels annoying for the same reason that the end of How I Met Your Mother is annoying
Overall I enjoyed it but I also can't bring myself to give it more than 3 stars. Maybe 3.5 if that was an option.

Loved it right up until the reveal and that lost it for me.

I’ve had read reviews feeling betrayed by the books 3/4 of the way through and felt the same way. I was talking chalking up the feedback to “story she told herself” but felt like this went beyond that scope.

I always do enjoy Riley’s books and actually picked up this by accident.  I did enjoy the turns throughout the book and felt like 3.25 is a fair review
