Since Shepherd had said those six magical words. Not three. The I love you had been important, but only half of what I’d needed to hear. The second half, please come home, had meant just as much.

It was such a fun and cute read! As much as I don't want to admit it, but I love quiet, stern and stoic characters like Shepherd! And Everly was so cute and I love how she brought the warmth in Shepherd. I found their relationship so sweet and endearing and can we please talk about how adorable of a father Richard is?? Like most romance books I read, the father is always so emotionally detached and cold but Richard had his heart on his sleeve and he loved being an attentive father and just loved to see his sons happy. I loveeee Everly and her group of friends and I'm so excited to read about Hazel and Corban! And I seriously can't wait to see who will sweep Nora off her feet! So fun!

I cannot believe how much I enjoyed that. Apparently Fake Dating is a trope I like? Although to be fair, I mostly wanted to spend time with Everly and her two best friends who were wonderful, hilarious, and super supportive.

I love a good fake girlfriend/fiancée trope. And this one delivers. Loved how strong and confident Everly was, secure in her strengths and open in her communication with her friends and family. Will definitely read the rest of the series.

Nope.
I was really hoping that this book would get me out of my book funk, but low and behold...I’m still in a funk.
The H is boring, flat, and uses the word “indeed” regularly in conversation. He sounds like someone’s grandpa. The heroine was a little slow in my opinion. She jumped into a fake relationship with him where they agreed to stay at his house and for some reason it didn’t occur to her that she would need to sleep in the same bed as him. There were other times in the book where I thought she wasn’t the brightest crayon in the crayola box, and that’s when I decided I was done. and don’t even get me started on the subplot of asking her boss for his sperm for her sister and sister-in-law 😳🙄

I thoroughly enjoyed Faking Ms. Right!
There are so many layers to this story.
Girl has nightmarish first dates, guy gets used for money. Guy needs pretend girlfriend ASAP. Boss asks assistant to be said fake girlfriend. Oh yeah! Girl needs something very personal from her boss. It's crazy and a lot but it works in this story. There was never a dull moment and it didn't seem over the top.
Everly is a fun, witty, sweetheart. Shepherd has issues and has built walls around his heart. The chemistry between two is cute and fun at first and then it's not. Cute and fun becomes replaced with hot as hell chemistry.
The side characters were just as fun and entertaining. I hope this is only the first of the Dirty Martini Running Club because I need more of these characters!
funny hopeful lighthearted medium-paced
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

Very far fetched, but I think that is to be expected and I think that is what made it such a great escape. It is a romance that relies on tropes and wraps up with happy endings for everyone. A lot of the plot lines were unbelievable but I think if you expect to have to suspend your disbelief and enjoy fake dating office romance tropes you will enjoy this one.

CUTE! Before reading this I hadn't finished a book in like a week because nothing was interesting me but this one hooked me in. I love a good boss/employee relationship especially when it's a personal assistant. This was done without un needed drama and was great. Can't wait for the next book in this world.

Once again, I picked up this book because of my bingo romance challenge, and this the prompt is to read a rom-com. It is my first Claire Kingsley, and, I enjoyed the story and the writing.
It is a contemporary read with very modern ideas like having two LGBTQ couples, yes they are the main characters but play an essential role in the story and the main characters. Family and friendship is something integral to the story.
I like a lot Evely with her bubbly life, and she can transform her boss, Shepherd in a more human. It a fast read and a sexy time book.
I will certainly continue reading Kingsley's book and the continuation of Hazel, Nora, and Richard's stories, I hope to have a romance story for Richard too.

3.5 Stars
This was a cute book. I liked the pacing of the book, I liked the characters, and enjoyed the storyline. I’ll definitely try more from this author.

I liked so many things about this book and disliked just about as many. My biggest grievance is by far the most cliche and awkward excuse for a character's reason to do something. I know that sounds vague but I'm trying to avoid spoilers. A close second was the dialogue. No one speaks like these characters do. It's all a little too squeaky clean and thorough.

Aside from that, I did love the characters overall. The chemistry between the two leads is great.
