A lot of character development but little pay off. Even the climax felt lacking. Glad it was short so I only put in little effort for the minimal reward.

I don't remember much from this. I think it had some weird tones to it at points, but overall had some good set up for a phycological horror book that just didn't fully deliver.

Wow

If I had to use one word to describe this book it would be: Unsettling.

I enjoyed my time reading the book although it starts out slowly and then slowly starts throwing twists at you. The narrative is from a point of view that is extremely unreliable, but you really don't notice until the small thoughts the main character has don't really add up.

Honestly even though I enjoyed this book I still feel like I need to have help really understanding what actually happened. I might need to sit with the story a bit and think about it.

not me staying up at 2 am thinking this book would keep getting better….. call the circus they missed a clown.

cw: death, fatphobic comments, ableism and ablest terminology.

i was promised a eerie horror/thriller and what i got was a weirdly paced literary trying to be mysterious. i love short books but damn i wish this was longer and went in depth in the “thriller-y” aspects. i would continue ranting but i’m tired and want to be free from this book lmao.

honestly if you’re intrigued by this pick it up, you might like it. but it just wasn’t for me.
