Such a great surprise. A bit of learning and interacting with adult problems, and the fun of being a superhero with a Beagle as your sidekick. (Even if you're the only one that knows it!)
With its empathy for others, respect for adults and a bit of learning the consequences for wrongs, I wouldn't hesitate to pass this on to any kid.

A perfect gem of a book - pun intended!
The Masked Avenger, with his faithful sidekick Richie the Power Beagle, protects the street where his alter ego, 12 year old Liam McKenzie, lives with his mother.
Patrolling by night, the Masked Avenger fixes sprinklers, moves bicycles from driveways and alerts car owners to the danger of low tyre pressure.
My heart bled for Liam. So smart and caring, but why does such a young boy feel the weight of the world on his shoulders? And can he garner the energy stored in gems to save a neighbour from her sadness?
A novella of style, pace and pathos. It gives so much to the reader for a very small investment of time.

Despite how childish the short graphic novel seems it’s actually quite a sweet and funny read with extensive vocabulary throughout the book. Although it seems aimed towards twelve-year-olds or younger children I don't think they could truly appreciate or understand it due to the complicated vocabulary.

Interesting little superhero novella. There are some interesting elements within the book but I think it needed more. Felt too much like a bedtime story you tell to a kid.
