 I love Klune’s books so much, the adventures he takes us on, and how all of them are so uniquely special. In his author’s note, he mentions that this one is different. And it is. But in such a good way. All of his books are about love and adventure and discovering oneself…they make you feel emotions across the spectrum. This book is deeper, rawer (rawr), and in some ways, more complex than the others I’ve read by him. There will be moments in this book that might make you feel uncomfortable, especially if you’ve never read anything about queer intimacy. But I think that’s ok, and it’s important to read stories beyond cis romance because it’s just as special and beautiful and important. I love the direction that Klune is taking his stories: anti J.K. Rowling. Because we need more love, acceptance, and understanding in this world, and so much less hate.

Enjoyable read! Two characters feel inspired by a couple stranger things main characters. I'm a sucker for a found family story though. It felt slow at times and the romance felt a little unearned but not enough for me to set the book down. Artemis has such a fun personality, I was able to overlook some other character flaws.
