I would rate this as more of a mystery than a thriller, as the narrator's never in any real danger and neither of the crime storylines really involve her or put her in danger.  I did like the podcast aspect and the two storylines and the mystery with the letters.

This novel does discuss rape and sexual assault a lot--though nothing is put in too graphic detail, it is one of the main themes.  So if you're sensitive to that, I would suggest staying away.  

While I liked this novel and the mysteries it uncovered, I also found some parts of it unrealistic.  People are so eager to talk to Rachel and give private info basically for free.  There's a scene where she walks into a stranger's home and starts asking about events from 25 years ago and no one bats an eye.  It was kind of hilarious.

It's a good mystery and I liked the podcast aspect, but there's not going to be any gasp-worthy twists and turns if that's what you're looking for.  But it's a solid read.

I really enjoyed reading this book! I did figure out a few things early on in the book, hence the 4 stars. I found it really interesting how the 2 seemingly unrelated storylines tied together and I enjoyed the jumping between Hannah, Rachel, and the podcast. I didn't want to put this book down!
