Short review:
I enjoyed this and liked it, I didn't love this book as I usually do the books from the Argeneau series. Usually the books are also more funny than this one was.

This series seems to be hit or miss for me. I didn't really care about the main characters at first, but towards the end Divine seemed to soften a little bit and wasn't as intimidating. Marcus was just sort of there. Although there was one scene that had me laughing mainly because one of the other characters was cracking up.
I usually love Lynsay Sands but this one was just okay for me. The story was a little on the boring side. I did love that Vincent and Jackie came back!! Those two crack me up every time. But Basha and Marcus were just alright nothing special.
There were some elements of this story I really liked, and others that stretched the bounds for me. I did like Basha and the circus. Her circus friends are sweet and seemed to really care for her. I did like that both she and Marcus are both quite ancient and thus more on the same page than trying to match her with a younger immortal. Marcus has lived quite the life protecting his family, first his nephew and then his nephew's son. But now the danger is past and he doesn't know what to do with his own life. Being sent to see if this gypsy at the circus is the possible rogue and Lucien's niece Basha is at least something to do.
I did like Marcus and Basha individually and for the most part liked them together as well. Both of them were strong willed, but Basha's past doesn't allow for a lot of trust. I know her history was hard and some of the few things she went through were atrocious, but the justifications needed to make sure she was unaware of her son were a little extreme for me.
There was a lot of fun in this story though. I enjoyed the read and as usual I'll be diving into the next story.

Good
This book was good but not great due to predictable storyline items. I will continue to read the series as it is an enjoyable, easy, and quick read.

Marcus is searching for Lucien's missing niece. Basha has been on the run for over 2 centuries. However, can she run now that she has found her life mate?
Another wonderful Argeneau vampire novel from the very talented Lynsay Sands. I LOVE this series. It began as a funny, romantic series and has lost some of the humor as the storyline has evolved. However, I love the twist on the vampire persona. I love the smart, strong heroines and extremely sexy heroes. I love that every book is unique even though some of the characters have similar traits. If you're not reading this series, I don't know what's wrong with you.
I was interested in the premise, but the ending lost all of the steam for me.
To have a giant set up of "what will happen when her uncle finds her?" and then being tied up by Abaddon... I was expecting way more action than a lot of talking.

I love this series. I try to read each book slowly so i can enjoy it...although it generally turns into me devouring it in one sitting once i hit the halfway point.
