A beautiful insight into the beginnings of what made Queen Levana who she is as we know her in the Lunar Chronicle books. Honestly am shocked that Channary was such a spoilt bitch, but I was immensely happy that she started to change once Selene/Cinder was born. . Levana is an interesting character but TBH, I can't wait to read about her downfall in "Winter" (at least, I HOPE she meets her downfall).

Oh. My. Gosh. This was one of the most amazing books I've ever read!! I didn't think I was going to make it through when I first started because it was in the point if view of the villain. But, as in all of her Lunar Chronicle Books, Meyer amazed me again with the fabulous way she crafts her words. I understand Lavana so much more now and I almost feel bad for her. Like all of the Lunar Chronicles, this book was amazing and in a way, beautiful.

I really don't know if I feel sorry for Levana or not....
Marissa Meyer's writing style is lovely as always and it's interesting to see the story unfold from Levana's p.o.v. But there's something missing, that humor and warmth that's present in the rest of The Lunar Chronicles. Of course, this is the villain's story so naturally it would be different.... Still, it's a very interesting book, just not quite up to the standard of the rest of the series, in my opinion. But nevertheless, it's a book worth reading!

Although this book was, in my eyes, a better one than Stars Above, it still didn’t quite grab my attention. Once you pick it up, you easily finish the book. But it’s hard to keep reading when the story is already known to you. I liked the fact that we got to see things form Levanas point of view, but when I reread the series in the future, I’m not really sure if I reread this book as well.
