Disclosure I received and ARC from the author. All thoughts and opinions are honest and my own.
I have been waiting to read this book since I finished Calypso’s Heart. I even pushed off studying for exams to read this book at times. It was worth it. What I enjoyed is that you got to know the characters better. Having already fallen in love with the pack I was looking forward to getting to know what makes them tick, and I got that. If you enjoyed the first book then you will enjoy this one.
What I especially enjoyed was the twists that took place throughout. I also loved the world building that happened throughout. We got the basic structure in the last book and now details are being expanded and I loved it.
My one warning would be that the phrase “pregnant pause” occurs a lot throughout the entire book. I thought it was funny noticing a go to phrase for the author.
If you enjoy paranormal romance books then there is no reason not to pick this up.

I loved this book. I am just in love with the characters and the world, and I cannot wait to have all the books out already. Rhyker and Keena's romance was something I was very much excited about from book one.

In this second book, we have Keena, a mind healer that is friends with all the pack as we saw in the previous book. She has a tragic past involving her parents that shaped her future and her relationships, and when she meets Rhyker, she is not sure she is ready to be with him. Keena was an intriguing character, from her background to her teaching yoga, and seeing her grow to trust her partner and develop a loving relationship was all I wanted for her. She is a very real character with real struggles, so it's easy to relate to her and like her.
And then there is Rhyker, the bad boy of the pack. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a tall, dark, and handsome type of guy, shifter in this case. I like to think Rhyker is a big teddy jaguar because, from the first time he saw Keena, he wanted her and did a lot to be with her, despite the reservations he had. He is sweet at the same time he is fierce and protective. He loves Keena and does all he can to help her realize they are right for each other. His faith in then was beautiful.

The only thing I will say is that I did expect more of their relationship evolving. After they moved in together, I was expecting minor conflicts and all that comes with sharing someones' space, but I was not satisfied with this part. Instead, we got a lot more from other character's POV, which I did not mind at all, and I am so looking forward to the romance that I hope to read more about as soon as the author releases it.
One thing I loved was that there is a lot about the couple from book one, so I'm not upset over not seeing the relationship develop between Keena and Rhyker because I am sure they will participate a lot in the next book, and I will be able to see them again.

*I have received an ACR of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That in no way altered my perception of the book.
