3.0

What I like from this book is the world builing of Teleosis with the people’s belief on the FourFold Gods set in a modern day setting which I found very interesting to explore.
I also like how the author tackle the topics surrounding the trauma following Inira’s struggle with her past and how she slowly overcomes it to become the better person at the end of it.

However, there are a few things that made me didn’t fully enjoy this book.
First, the romance happens too fast to my liking for both Inira and Emerie. The instant attraction which happened only in a matter of days felt like an insta-love trope that I’m not a huge fan of.

The pacing isn’t well balanced as well, the first half part is quite slow and drawn out but the second half part felt too rushed. I wish we get to know more about the characters and see more of their interaction throughout the story.

This novel has an interesting idea and great elements inside but some parts still need more developments.

Thank you to Book of Matches Media and the author for giving me an e-ARC of the book and for having me on this book tour. I’m leaving this review voluntarily!
