Picked this up as a beach read because I was interested in the setting - muskoka resort. The storyline was a bit sickly sweet, everything
got tied up in a neat bow
by the end. I really liked their day in Toronto and I recognized a lot of the areas they visited, but
they probably should have left it at that and called it a day before getting together again in 10 years
Both Fern and Will felt generic and lacked depth, but I guess that’s what I expected in a beach read. Overall, it fit the objective and was easy hammock reading.

3.5/5 stars
this book is really more of a 3 star read but i love the cover so it’s an extra half-star for that

I just didn't feel the romance and found the book quite forgettable. It was pretty slow paced even with the dual timelines. Their attraction felt a bit love at first sight with some pining over the years that didn't really feel satisfying.

This has been on my TBR for so long! Cute, but honestly kind of boring. I liked it enough to keep reading, but wasn’t excited to pick it up. I just felt like there was very little …passion(?) compared to what I was expecting/hoping for.

The perfect summer love book to read!

I love how the story alternates between chapters about the present and the past. I also enjoyed learning more about Fern’s mom through her diary entries. At first, I wasn’t sure what to think about Will Baxter, but I grew to love his character more and more as the book went on. The ending was beautiful, and there were definitely moments that made me teary-eyed. I can’t recommend this book enough if you’re looking for a lighthearted summer romance.
