Okay it’s cute and all but spending 10 years pining after a man only to chase & grovel again was a bit depressing. Though I do love a good lake.

I really enjoyed the overall story here, but I did feel like it took a minute to get going.

I don't like the second chance trope. Also the grief theme linked to the mother was triggering me.

As a big fan of Every Summer After and One Golden Summer, I found this book a tad lackluster. The premise was that the fmc (Fern) and mmc (Will) spent 1 day together 10 years ago (while both being in separate relationships) and fell so madly in love it affected the trajectory of their lives when it didn’t work out… I personally couldn’t find myself invested in the characters or their love story. I also felt like Fern was chasing after Will the whole time and he pretty much gave her nothing unless they were getting intimate. Unfortunately not my favorite Carley Fortune book or characters. However, I still enjoyed her writing style and the cozy summer feeling her books exude as always. I’m hoping I get a better experience with This Summer Will Be Different!!!
