I really wanted to love this one, but it just fell a little flat for me.

I did really like Fern.  She tugged at all my heart strings, and it was so good to see her grow into the person she was meant to be.

I liked Will, but also, I didn't.  He was terrible at communication, and it just didn't feel like he was the best thing for Fern.

I did like the side characters, especially Peter.

And the resort setting was fun.  I liked all the nods to Dirty Dancing.

I just felt like the book never got great for me.  There wasn't anything that just made me kick my heels and smile about.

need a whole book on maggie and peter. overall good book! i really liked how realistic the book was that both the main characters needed to find themselves before coming together. but will really had poor fern run after him TWICE. they have a lot to work on… but they’ll do it. will is a loyal man with issues, and fern needs to figure out her own ish with the resort as well. but really at the end of the day i was more invested in maggie and peter and honestly, that man had me crying. CRYING. justice for peter please.

I loved the dual timelines ⏳, the lakeside setting 🌊, and the slow unraveling of their connection ❤️. While some moments felt a little predictable, the chemistry between Fern and Will made me root for them the whole way through. Their journey of forgiveness and growth reminded me how powerful it can be to get a second chance at love.
