Super fun! I love Janelle Shane’s blog, AI Weirdness. I think this would be a great book to gift, because it demystifies computer processing and shows you the types of strategies behind automation - this sounds kind of dry and technical, but her presentation is so fun and delightful, you could probably give this to a teen or a tech-phobic person and they’d have an enjoyable time.

This book gets 5 stars for making a complicated topic accessible, being somewhat funny but also realistic. Its biggest flaw is that it's perhaps overly pessimistic on any kind of general AI. But I think it does a good job explaining not only the basic concepts but also the mechanisms and algorithms involved in ML/AI and how they're used today. Will probably become my goto recommendation for people looking for an intro to AI
