A whimsical and informative read. Easily understandable even for those without a computer science/engineering background, like me.

This book is a delightful exploration of the weird side of AI and why it’s results are frequently amusing to humans. On a more serious note, Shane provides a good high-level overview of how common machine learning algorithms work, what problems they are or aren’t good for, and why the data they get trained on is so important. My wife looked at me funny because I burst into giggles a few times while reading. Highly recommended.
So good. Clear, charming, funny. Also, a really great resource for understanding systemic bias, including racism and misogyny. Shane's examples of AI learning from biased data sets and how this creates even more bias in our systems are particularly eye-opening and alarming. As AI growth continues, we have to make sure that we have smart, independent and ethical folks testing and questioning these systems.

I enjoyed what I listened to of this (audiobook) but I think I'd like to see the examples in print for myself. Might pick up in the future.

A very interesting introduction to A.I., their uses and their limitations. This is a fun and interesting introduction to the topic for casual readers without a computer programming background who know A.I from social media and general knowledge. It's a good primer with a healthy dose of humour.

As a person who is pretty good with technology but gets overwhelmed with the "why" of how certain technology works, I found this to be a delightful read. There was still a lot that went over my head, but I loved the humor and the (relatively) easy-to-understand descriptions of how AI and Machine Learning work.
