An enjoyable murder mystery set back on Preservation station. It would have been nice to read this before reading Network Effect, since novels have the luxury of many crescendos.

A perfectly cromulent novella. The refugee angle was fresh. The mystery kept me guessing. Murderbot is growing as a...person? and I liked the development of its relationship of mutual suspicion with Senior Indah. I missed Dr. Mensah and, of course, ART.

Well, it's Murderbot, so you know it's going to be good, even before starting reading.
And we're back to the tried and trusted format of a novella again, thankfully. I wasn't a fan of the full-length book. This is quite a laid-back, almost meandering offering, which isn't a bad thing by any means. It was good to just soft of hang out with Murderbot, as he solved a little murder mystery. An incredibly quick read but well worth it. It's good to be back.
Oh, and Martha, more JollyBaby, please. I see potential here for a sort of 'pet' for Murderbot.
