This story took a bit for me to ground myself and understand what was going on in the parallel timelines.  At it's heart you have a girl (Letitia) who is grieving the lose of her older brother who travels to see her great aunt.  Once she reaches her ancestral home, she finds herself in a more meaningful way and also helps her great aunt Olivia find closure in the mystery surrounding the disappearance of her aunt Evie. This story is told in dual timelines and has some themes about class and race
