This was an interesting premise, but something about it didn't quite work for me. I'm not sure, honestly, what exactly the problem was, but I did have some issues with the set-up.
Things I really did enjoy, however:
The honest portrayal of Samantha and her issues with depression and self-harm
Eli's desire to remain in the human world
Adam's interest in Eli (that he's kept secret)
So much flirting! It was super cute!
Samantha and her honesty about her sexuality
Samantha and her insistence on communication - THANK YOU
Some things I was a bit more iffy on:
Eli's big secret (which we didn't really hear enough about, I think)
Adam's reaction to the kiss
What the heck happened to the kitten! I am not okay with this decision!
Why does Samantha have to remember, when Eli and Adam don't? This just seems like a set-up for failure.
3 out of 5 stars. Overall it was pretty strong, and definitely interesting, but didn't quite work for me.
