3.5 rounded to four. (In many places, I thought, oh, this is what I would be like if I was a thief. Good to know.)

For fans of [b:The Spellman Files|129117|The Spellman Files (The Spellmans, #1)|Lisa Lutz|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1171981639s/129117.jpg|2896642] and the TV series Monk, I implore you to read this sweet, funny, totally enjoyable story. It's one of my favorite kinds of books: quirky, smart, and well-paced with memorable characters and a satisfying conclusion. It's got suspense, a bit of romance, and it offers a perspective on the world that you've probably never considered. Chew on this: Are you a bad person if you steal things no one will miss?

A fun book that is enjoyable but could be tightened up.

I had been looking at this book for a little while and decided to jump in and read it. Martin is a professional burglar. He has been meticulously inventorying and robbing people for years. Some homes he has been visiting for years and years. He take small items, a roll of toilet paper, some mustard, 3 cans of soda. He has his favorite brands and products and knows where to get them.

The book as a whole has some very good parts and some parts I feel like are tacked on. The best part is Martin himself. The idea of an OCD burglar who is also a meticulous genius is a clever character. He constantly is amusing.

The plot could have been stronger. I think the book finishes well but does not really find its pace until about half way through. I feel like the book could have been shorter and really sizzled.

I also feel like there were some plot holes from the first half that were left open. What happen to the parrot?! I almost put it down in the first 100 pages. The writing was fine and care given to details were nice. I liked the break down of the methods that Martin used. They just became boorish after awhile.

I still liked it. It was enjoyable. It could have been more refined in my opinion. Would be a really good book for a book club since there are all sorts of stuff to talk about and cling to. It actually read more like a movie than a book if that makes any sense.

About an OCD burglar who is actually a really good guy who you can't help but like. This was a fun, different read. Its very detailed and a bit slow in parts, but I liked it anyway!

I thought this book was absolutely brilliant. It is the perfect mix of quirky characterization and lightly suspenseful adventures. Martin is a man who provides for himself by stealing things from other people's houses; through a list of carefully devised rules and procedures, he ensures that he is never caught, and the missing items are never detected. Over the course of the novel, Martin becomes more and more involved in the personal lives of his "clients," leading to dangerous escapades and even romance. I loved looking at the world through the lens of Martin's methodical mind. Every detail of the book is so clever and I found myself marveling at how thoroughly Martin's thought processes are described. This book definitely exceeded my expectations - I couldn't put it down.
