Bram. Bram. Bram.

This end to the Whitmore series was like a giant hug with a tattooed, brooding, stern brunch daddy to boot.

Emma Carson is new to Saddle Creek and immediately catches the eye of Bram when she meets her friend, Luna for dinner. Unfortunately, his gruff attitude doesn't make for a meet-cute. With a bit of forced proximity though, these two are able to find their way to each other.

We also got cameos from so many Saddle Creek faves. Ian and Cleary!!! But also from the rest of the Whitmores, a Crawford, and the women of the 'Bad Boys' of Saddle Creek. Love this author and this small town.

First off I have to say the title fits this so perfectly! Daddy Whitmore is getting a second chance at love. After all these years a woman finally penetrates his heart. Bubbly and curvy Emma is no match for this grumpy silver fox. This is fast read, but such an enjoyable one. Bram and Emma have sparks flying right from their first meeting that leads to them burning up the pages. I really loved seeing Bram getting a second chance at love. He has raised his children and now enjoying his grandchildren to see him find someone to let into his heart again is beautiful. Now it's not going to be easy, but I enjoyed the ride for these two.

A little spicy, steamy, instalove, age gap, curvy girl, small town story.

75% of this novella was spent building likable characters with great depth. There was such potential and I'm my opinion need for a full length novel. It felt like a lot of nice build up to just suddenly come to full resolution and ending.

Spoilers past here:
A young teacher who underwent a hysterectomy at 18 somehow is billed as completely ok with never having children but also views herself as too broken to be loved.
A grandfather who lost his first wife and only love fifteen years ago has spent those years as a dedicated father only.

Abraham is a hot gramps. A widower with 4 grown kids he’s been celibate and uninterested for more than 15 years. Then in walks Emily. A new school teacher in town, Emily heads out to a local bar to meet with a friend and runs into broody and hot Abraham and they both feel an instant attraction. Abraham immediately decides that there is no way anything can happen between them and makes it known that Emily should stay away. Emily, unfortunately can’t shake her attraction even though her first impression of him is not good. When they are forced to work together on a school play their attraction bubbles over…

This is a cute super short novella. Obviously an age gap although it’s never quite clear how big of a gap there is, they do make it clear that Abraham’s former wife was a HS Sweetheart and they married right after HS. It has a lot of steam and just the right amount of angsty back and forth to make the HEA satisfying. If you you have a quick hour and want a sweet steamy read, this is a good choice.

Girls! I've been waiting for Daddy Whitmore to grace my Kindle with his presence. Bram is such a great dad and pop that when his life takes an unexpected turn to love, he doesn't know what to do. I love Emma and how she didn't let him get away with anything the first time they met. Their connection is sizzling. The scene at the tattoo shop was just sexual tension personified. Also, the steamy scenes between these two are so SPICY. ;).

I received an ARC and I'm freely reviewing.

This was a good quick read. Bram and Emma meet and there is an instant attraction. Bram fights it and Emma is confused as to why he treats her that way.
