A quiet story about ordinary people that gradually drew me in. Pacing felt a little slow to begin with, but by the end I was feeling very emotional! I wouldn't say it was a particularly cosy read, as the writer puts his characters through some difficult life events and doesn't sentimentalize them.

I do not understand what the point of this book is. Maybe it just didn’t translate but I found none of the characters likeable or relatable (except for the two old women always gossiping, they were fun). Everything was bleak or boring.
